Is Tony Robbins a Scam? Decide For Yourself With This Review

Ken Breeden asked:

Motivational gurus are an entirely new species born out of the requirements of the current evolutionary stage of man. And one of the most typical examples of this modern species is Tony Robbins. He is a corporate motivational speaker and self help coach, very much in demand across the globe, besides being a philanthropist helping to feed millions across the world. His Anthony Robbins Foundation is also involved in other humanitarian activities like helping senior citizens and troubled teens. However, Tony Robbins had to take flak for some of his ideas and let us see if there is any basis in what is known as the Tony Robbins Scam.

His motivational seminars, infomercials, and audio programs are very popular and have been attended by millions who claim to have been able to make it better in life by his persuasion. Business conglomerates vie with each other to have him address their staff. He delves deeply into subjects like self realization, self help, improving relationships, neuro-linguistic programming, hypnosis, and individual health. One of his most notable contributions to the field of self-improvement is his work ‘Unlimited Power.’

He prefers to be known as a ‘peak performance coach’ rather than as a motivational guru. He is able to build up rapport with people very easily and that is one of the secrets of his success. He is able to show them a pattern in any apparent chaos. Of his different types of seminars, the four day seminar known as ‘Unleash the Power Within’ is very popular. His philosophy is that there is precious little that man cannot do and that he is simply inhibited by lack of self-esteem and social conditioning. A success coach like Tony Robbins works as a catalyst, goading people in the right direction, and by helping them to unleash their own dormant powers. He is the link connecting people’s dreams and its realization.

However, everybody does not appreciate his way of functioning. There are enough people in the world who can motivate themselves, and do not need to pay through their nose to listen to Tony Robbins to get that ‘high.’ Tony has also come under heavy criticism for the fire-walking that his trainees are encouraged to do. Some of his claims made at the seminar have been challenged and his statement of hertz as a unit of energy has been thoroughly disapproved of. There were also lawsuits against him. Everything that he did may not be desirable but undesirable arenas are not so much as to tag his seminars as a Tony Robbins Scam.
